2009 New Zealand Post Group Local Government Excellence Awards

The winners of the 2009 New Zealand Post Group Local Government Excellence Awards were announced at the SOLGM Conference in Palmerston North on 6 September by Don Day Manager Local Government Relations, New Zealand Post Group. 

The award and commendation winners were:

Supreme Award and Council-Community Relationships Category Winner

  • Porirua City Council - Villages Planning Programme
Building Organisational Capability Category Winner
  • Manukau City Council -  Managing Manukau City’s growth and development – the Enterprise Asset View project
Joined Up Local Government Category Winner
  • New Plymouth District Council - New Plymouth District Alcohol Strategy
Improved Local Regulation Category Winner
  • North Shore City Council - A new approach to erosion and sediment control on small development sites.

Building Organisational Capability Commendation

  • Rotorua District Council - SuperService

Joined Up Local Government Commendation

  • Stratford District Council - Stratford TET Home Safety Project

Council-Community Relationships Commendation
