Local Government After Hours Contact Centre

The Centre is a shared service between all participating Councils who are represented on an "After Hours Shared Services Forum" providing a governance role to the ongoing development and operation of the Local Government service. Seven Councils are currently using the service and include Regional, City and District Councils. An innovative "After Hours Toolkit" was developed to gather information on individual Councils.

"Cranlop" Emergency Dewatering Non- return Valve

The project describes an innovative ‘number 8 wire’ engineering response to the devastating flood event experienced by the Eastern Bay of Plenty during July 2004. To achieve rapid dewatering of impounded floodwaters the shipping container based non-return valve structure was invented ("the Cranlop").
