Kohimarama and St Heliers Beaches Replenishment Programme
"Auckland City Council has replenished and revitalised degraded and unprotected beaches along the coastal arterial road, Tamaki Drive. Over the past few years, Kohimarama and St Heliers beach replenishment schemes have been successfully completed. The two beaches have been transformed into high quality coastal destinations that positively contribute to the lifestyle of Auckland’s communities and elegantly solve the problems of protecting Tamaki Drive from the encroaching sea."

Christchurch Sustainability Policy
"Many definitions of sustainability are aspiration in nature. They are not easily implemented or acted upon. They can not easily be used as a way to guide decisions for the community. More meaningful guidance and more definitive terms are needed to assist communities to become more sustainable. Consequently, the Christchurch City Council embarked on an extensive study of sustainability theory and practice internationally and nationally, to gain a deeper understanding of this commonly used word. This research has resulted in the Christchurch City Council’s Sustainability Policy, which was adopted 27 March 2008."

Stay Safe in the City
“Since 2005 Wellington City Council has worked collaboratively both across the organisation and with external partners to obtain World Health Organisation (WHO) Safe Community status for Wellington City. In June 2006 Wellington City became the first capital city to become a member of the WHO Safe Community network. This status has not been taken lightly by the organisations who are signatories to the agreement – all partners realised that there was still a lot of work to do. We needed to strengthen the message of community safety and collaboratively focus our attention on areas of greatest risk.”

Wellington City Council
Creating a “Parking Meter Inventory” with Mobile GIS
“The Wellington City Council owns $5.8 billion worth of assets (2006). Having an up-to-date, accurate and informative inventory of these assets promotes effective asset management. With road layout changes, alterations of parking zones and installation of new machines or parking spaces – the potential to lose track of parking meter assets increases. Parking Services were under pressure to fully record all parking meter locations and attributes. The mobile GIS solution fitted perfectly with their needs.”
