Its Not OK in Waihi
"Hauraki District Council has teamed up with a number of agencies to launch a pilot campaign bringing two National Campaign messages to a local level. The three month campaign aims to raise awareness of the effect that alcohol fuelled domestic violence specifically has on children within the community of Waihi. The campaign is based around three main components, with the addition of supporting material and media. The idea is to keep it local, and local faces have been chosen as role models throughout the camping in order to do this."

Growing Communities
"The economic conditions of early - mid 2009 caused Hastings District Council (HDC) to examine what could be done to help its community deal with impacts from the recession. HDC met Work and Income (Ministry of Social Development) (MSD) to discuss ways of working together to fully utilise the subsidy. The Growing Communities programme was launched in October 2009."

Better, Together. Manawatu District Council Shared Service Arrangements
"Manawatu District Council is very proud of the successful Shared Service Arrangements it has with neighbouring local authorities. Buoyed by the success of an initial shared service arrangement in 2003 the portfolio of shared service arrangements has grown over the past years to now include a wide range of services. Going beyond the goal of efficient and effective service delivery, the results of this successful project make it easy to see that “sharing” brings about meaningful benefits for our communities, our organisations and our employees. As a small rural authority we believe that joining resources with our neighbours makes us better, together. "
