"Managing in a Political Environment - Leadership United" was produced by the UK Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and senior Managers (SOLACE) in 2005.
This report is primarily concerned with managing effectively in the political environment at the local level. It considers how officers and members, particularly Chief Executives and Leaders of local authorities, can make sure that they work together well in the best interests of the council and the people served by the council.
